Thursday, August 16, 2012 to Wednesday, August 22, 2012
As you know FCG has been operating with reduced summer hours this month to prepare for the really exciting and action packed month coming up. There are many great FCG events taking place in September and we invite you to join us. More details for these events will become available in the upcoming weeks.
The LAC’s Viz-Biz at the London Arts Council Office and City of London Mayor’s Office will be finishing September 4th and 5th with new work by London Artists being installed on those same days. Be sure to see the works of the current Artists featured before the installations are changed in September.
FCG will be releasing a new digital publication sometime in September titled “Bigger Than Life: Amy Lockhart’s Ladies” containing an essay by Jon Davies on Amy Lockhart’s recent solo exhibition “Ladies” at the FCG.
The Beal Emerging Artist Exhibition begins September 13, 2012 celebrating the 100th anniversary of H.B. Beal Secondary School and featuring the works of BealArt Alumni Tristan McDonald, Carson Teal, Alex Versolatto & Y.U.C.K. (Young Canadian Underground Knitters). The entrance to the exhibition will also feature the work of Camella Kim, an emerging Artist, recent Western University graduate and the recipient of the Forest City Gallery Exhibition Opportunity Award.
Forest City Gallery hosts their Annual General Meeting September 15, 2012 at 12:30 pm. Members are invited to join us for an informative afternoon to contribute ideas to FCG’s year ahead. Celebrations of a great year will follow with a collaborative afternoon of music and barbeque with our neighbours and friends at Hot Dog Musique and Cinema.
FCG’s Fundraiser the Taste of Tuscany will take place at Goodwill Industries’ Conference Centre on Saturday, September 22nd from 7-9 pm. This event is being held in partnership with Scotiabank’s Team Scotia Community Program with proceeds going to FCG – one of Canada’s oldest Artist-Run Centres celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2013. Join us for a fun Tuscany themed evening with great food, wine, music, vineyard tours and more!
And to wrap up a great month, FCG will participate in Culture Days and the 11th Doors Open London during the last weekend of September.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to September.
