Forest City Gallery is proud to present LadyFest: a day that celebrates the female artist. LadyFest will consist of a vendor market, mini-workshops, food, live-music and community.
With this event, and all LadyFests that came before, our intention is to celebrate the female artist, and provide an opportunity to showcase some of the many artists dedicated to making their work pro-feminist, political, thought-provoking and inclusive. The goal of LadyFest (past, present and future) is to act as a hub of feminist activity that connects existing communities and generates new ones. All are welcome to this celebration!
The Vendor Market will feature various wares, crafts, artworks and things that will be available for purchase, created by female artists from the London community. A portion of the proceeds from the day-time Vendor Market will be donated to My Sisters' Place, a local organization that functions as a safe haven for women (link below). The day-time event is free and the open to the public. Please bring cash if you are interested in purchasing work from the vendors or wish to make a donation to My Sisters' Place.
Later that day, FCG’s music series Hear Here will feature three live performances by PONY (Toronto, ON), Danielle Fricke (London, ON) and Lynne Craven of Lonnie in the Garden (London, ON). Photo insert graciously donated by London-based photographer, Rima Sater.
FCG gratefully acknowledges the individuals and organizations that have created and hosted LadyFest in the past. FCG strives to continue this celebration of local female creativity in all of its forms, in a safe, inclusive environment.
