Let me talk to you man to man / Erica Mendritzki

Saturday, July 9, 2016

Forest City Gallery is proud to present a lecture by Erica Mendritzki, Let me talk to you man to man, originally presented for MAWA, Mentoring Artists for Women's Art (Winnipeg).

To engage with the history of ideas or the history of art, as a woman, is to interrupt a century-spanning conversation where the topics of discussion and rules of engagement have been set by men. In this lecture, Erica Mendritzki will explore how artists like Rosemarie Trockel, Louise Lawler, and Ana Mendieta have subverted, admired, parodied, and taken revenge on our patriarchal canon.

This event is free and open to the public. FCG is a wheelchair accessible space.
