Exhibition Duration: Friday, September 6 – Friday, October 18, 2013 Opening Reception: Friday, September 6th, 7:00- 10:00 PM
The Forest City Gallery is now accepting submissions for the fourth installment of Activation. This Call for Sumbmissions is open to emerging artists and collectives in the London area who have recently completed their undergraduate / graduate studies in the last five years, or who have been practicing artists for less than 5 years. The aim of Activation is to cultivate local emerging artists by pairing an exhibition opportunity with workshops led by local art professionals that build expertise in portfolio development, exhibition design, installation, lighting, and professional practice. Knowledge gained through these one-to-one workshops will foster a stronger community of local artists, enhance the quality of an emerging exhibition at a nationally recognized venue, and better prepare new-generation artists for a professional career in the arts. The Forest City Gallery encourages submissions that critically reflect and address current developments in artistic practice.
The deadline for submissions is August 10th 2013. Please include:
- A brief project description and artist statement (500 words maximum)
- A current curriculum vitae
- A maximum of 10 digital images set at 1024 x 768 and 72 dpi, video (no longer than 10 minutes of material), DVD or CDROM
Submission packages will not be returned. Submissions may not be submitted by fax or email.
Packages may be mailed to/dropped off at:
