Join us in creating a surface pattern design using stamps, inspired by the cultural art of Adire (Yoruba, West Africa).
This introductory level workshop will introduce you to the Yourba printing technique of Adire. Participants will explore storytelling inspired by the art of Adire Batik print making. Using easily accessible materials, participants will explore stamp and mark-making to create a surface pattern design inspired by history, symbols and icons made with stamps from craft foam. Each participant will create a collection of stamps, a colour palette and surface pattern for their project.
This workshop is open to beginners or anyone looking to expand their creative skills with hands-on techniques.
Please come in clothing you don’t mind getting paint on. All materials will be provided.
