Activation- Emerging Artist Exhibition

Friday, September 6, 2013 to Friday, October 18, 2013
Opening Reception: Friday, Sept. 6th 7:00- 10:00 PM

The aim of Activation is to cultivate local emerging artists by pairing an exhibition opportunity with workshops led by local art professionals that build expertise in portfolio development, exhibition design, installation, lighting, and professional practice. Knowledge gained through these one-to-one workshops will foster a stronger community of local artists, enhance the quality of an emerging exhibition at a nationally recognized venue, and better prepare new-generation artists for a professional career in the arts.

His practice stands as an investigation of the use of colloquial expressions in painting. Through painterly explorations, Ludlow experiments with how a simple expression can stand in for a complex thought. Through painting Ludlow re-examines the fleeting or seemingly inconsequential. Ludlow won this exhibition opportunity through the Annual Juried Exhibition at the ArtLab at Western University.
